Armyworms Appearance and Size Facts
Armyworms are caterpillar larvae known for their distinctive appearance and destructive feeding habits. These hairless larvae exhibit a base color ranging from yellow-green to dark brown or gray. While they are similar in size to other caterpillars, their bodies feature prominent stripes running along the length, with one stripe on each side and an additional stripe down the middle of the back. As mature larvae, they reach sizes ranging from 1/16 inch in the early instar stage to 1 1/3 inches.
